Who We Are

Untitled design (2).png

Church Kids Collective is a worship family made up of songwriters, singers, musicians, and creatives who grew up in the Church — the ones who stayed, the ones who strayed, and the ones who are just now finding their way home. We exist to create songs and spaces that carry the blood of Jesus, sound doctrine, and the stories we carry. Every lyric, every session, every gathering is shaped by the Word of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We're not chasing viral moments or aesthetic worship — we're after what is true, what is holy, and what heals. We believe our testimonies matter. Our theology matters. And the way we carry both must reflect the One we worship. This isn’t a movement built on hype — it’s built on holy ground.

VALUES

WE SEEK HIS FACE, BEFORE WE SEEK A SONG

“One thing I ask from the Lord… to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” — Psalm 27:4

Before we write, before we record, before we release — we seek Him. We’re not chasing a vibe or a viral moment; we’re chasing the presence of God. And that pursuit doesn’t start when we gather — it starts in the secret place. Our personal altars matter. Our time alone with God shapes the sound we carry together. Because what we do in public is only powerful if it’s rooted in what we do in private. The greatest songs won’t come from striving — they’ll come from communion. Worship is our way of life before it’s ever a line in a lyric.

WE ARE COVERED- BOTH IN THE COLLECTIVE AND IN OUR CHURCH HOMES

“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls…” — Hebrews 13:17

“Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.” — Psalm 92:13

There is power and safety in spiritual covering. This collective may be a place of creativity and community, but it is not a replacement for the local church. Every member of Church Kids Collective is encouraged to stay rooted in a home church, submitted to local leadership, and actively involved in the body. Why? Because flourishing happens when we’re planted. Accountability protects the anointing. And when we are covered in both community and church, we’re positioned to create from a place of safety, maturity, and longevity.

WE CHOOSE ENCOURAGEMENT OVER COMPARISON

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.” — Romans 12:6

There is room for everyone at this table. We believe that God doesn’t do copy-paste creativity — He placed your voice, your gifting, your perspective in you on purpose and for a purpose. We don’t need to sound the same, write the same, or lead the same to carry the same Spirit. In this house, we don’t compete — we champion. Because the Kingdom isn’t built on comparison; it’s built on collaboration. We honor one another’s anointing, and we trust that God will get the glory through our uniqueness, not in spite of it.

WE STAY ROOTED IN THE WORD

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs…” — Colossians 3:16

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker… who correctly handles the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15

When we write songs, we’re not just crafting lyrics — we’re teaching doctrine. People may forget a sermon, but they’ll remember a chorus. That means what we say about God in song must align with what He’s revealed about Himself in Scripture. To write truth, we must know truth. That’s why we stay in the Word. We are not just artists — we are teachers, intercessors, and messengers. Our theology fuels our creativity, and our songs should lead people to both encounter and understanding. We don’t just want to stir emotion — we want to anchor people in truth.

WE CONSULT THE CREATOR BEFORE WE CREATE

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

“In the beginning, God created…” — Genesis 1:1

“By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations…” — Proverbs 3:19

God is the original Creative — the One who imagined light, sound, rhythm, beauty, breath, and being. So why would we ever start without Him? There’s no good reason to create apart from the greatest Creator of all time. His wisdom surpasses ours. His vision is bigger. His Spirit knows what heaven is singing and what earth needs to hear. Before we grab an instrument or open our notes app, we pause. We ask. We listen. Because when we consult the Creator, our creativity becomes consecrated. And that’s where the power is.

WE DON'T RUSH THE OIL

“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” — James 1:4

“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.” — 1 Corinthians 14:33

We don’t rush the process. We don’t force the moment. We don’t fabricate what hasn’t been birthed yet. Oil comes through pressing — and pressing takes time. Our generation is quick to produce, quick to post, quick to move on — but God often moves in order, not urgency. Rushing may get you a song, but waiting gets you anointed. And we’re after the kind of songs that break yokes, not just get streams. We trust that God’s timing is perfect, and we’d rather wait on the real thing than release something that sounds good but carries no weight. The oil is worth the wait.

WE DON'T WRITE ANEMIC SONGS- THEY CARRY THE BLOOD

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” — Revelation 12:11

We are blood-bought believers, and because we carry the blood of Jesus, our songs must carry it too. We don’t write hollow melodies or vague hope — we write with the power that raised the dead. The blood of Jesus isn’t just our salvation; it’s our source, our message, and our authority. Our songs won’t just sound good — they’ll testify, they’ll war, they’ll heal, they’ll declare. We write songs with weight — songs soaked in testimony, not just technique. Our songs must glorify God and edify His people. They should stir hearts to repentance, awe, healing, and holy action. These songs aren’t background noise — they’re meant to disrupt, deliver, and disciple. The Gospel is not a backdrop; it's the lifeblood of our sound.

WE REFLECT THE KINGDOM- IN COLOR, CULTURE, AND CADENCE

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” — Revelation 7:9

Heaven won't sound like one genre- and neither will we. We honor the diversity of people and praise, culture and cadence, testimony and tone. Our worship should reflect the fullness of God's creativity and the wide family of God's people. We don’t just create space- we celebrate those in it. We don't assimilate- we amplify. The table is big, and every nation, tribe, and tongue belongs at it.
